Why is the ask price at 72.5 on DLJ and 73 on the real time quote board?



All that means is there is an ECN willing to sell at that price. Once the market is closed, the market makers don't show up on the ask. Consequently, if there aren't any ECN's on the ask near the closing price, you see the first ECN. It doesn't mean squat.

The best ask on NASDAQ after hours is $72.5!

Maybe AMAT or somebody is thinkin about takin a run at the company. The stock is so far undervalued relative to the market peer group, earnings and fundamentals it's a joke. Somebody's pants are way down around their ankles.

I unloaded half of my shares today at 64.5 - that will pretty much guarantee a huge run-up from here. The ask jumped to 72.5 about 10 minutes after I got my sell confirmation. Never fails.
