i suspect you are right Hugh - in fact (like you) i am betting on it. haven't heard any price or terms, but would presume at a discount to prevailing prices, purportedly offset by involvement of strategic investors who bring value (technology/relationships) into the company. stock held in VERY well today, and showed nice basing support. it is certainly easier to justify the runup when you have such a steep valuation gradient with (and as good or better products as) a public competitor.
