Portugal's mission to the European Union in Brussels confirmed Monday that Sickl, a prominent member of Joerg Haider's Freedom Party, was being invited to the day-long informal gathering of social affairs ministers. "The invitation was sent Monday afternoon," an official at the mission told AFP, ending several days of speculation in Brussels as to whether Sickl, 59, would be asked to attend.
