Hi Rod,

I can see Inprise making the premier linux application development environment and Corel making the best office suite for linux. We use BC++Builder at work and I am completely amazed with this particular product (and others love its sister, Delphi). I have no doubts that BC++Builder will be THE development environment that will rule.

I was wondering why Red Hat didn't buy INPR. That would certainly have been a killer move for them. I guess CORL was smart(er) to see ahead - I think owning the development tools that the future applications will be written in gives them a good advantage.

I don't doubt the things you say about the leadership - it's pretty shaky! I can recall the office suite in java fiasco first hand! But there is potential. Unfortunately bad management tends to continue to be bad, so we will see. I am so optimistic about BC++Builder and Linux that I bought CORL today.
