Suppose for example you have $10,000 ABC stock and $10,000 cash at the start of the day. You hold the ABC stock all day and into the night. Are you saying you can still spend $20,000 that day, assuming of course you do not have more than $20,000 total in stock at the end of the day?

Not really. To spend the $10,000 tied in ABC, one would have to sell ABC first.
