chalu, What front lines?? He was in an airplane. Have you ever seen combat in the front lines? Have you ever seen a buddy in his foxhole after a direct mortar hit? Have you ever seen a buddy cut in half by a machine gun burst? Well, neither did McCain. His grandfather, and his father, were admirals in the Navy. Do you know anything about the elite blue clique? I do not think so. Have you ever seen a poor retired admiral? I seriously doubt it. So, get off the money schtick. All that aside, McCain was not the only man to ever get shot down. He was not the only man to receive brutal, and debilitating, treatment by his captors, and he was not the only service man to receive many medals. Regardless of the poundage of scrap metal pinned on his chest, he never won the Congressional Medal of Honor. Sgt. Alvin York did. Was he presidential material? Lt. Audie Murphy did. Was he presidential material? You could go down the list of the hundreds of CMH winners that were not presidential material. So, my point is, what other qualifications does McCain have that makes him presidential material. Not being a senator. Ted Kennedy is a senator. Strom Thurmon is a senator. Etc.,etc.,etc. Do you consider any one of them as presidential material? What else has McCain done that makes him so great, in your estimation? The only reason you have given for supporting him, from the beginning, was that he was a war "hero". That is great, and I respect, and admire, any man that faces combat in the uniform of the United States, but there are one heck of a lot of those guys. What makes McCain special? --haqi
