Khan, I had completely missed HDR not being voice, but data only....I saw on the slide show with Dr. Schrock (sp?) that MSM4500 chipsets are back-compatible to 95A,B plus do HDR at 153kbs.....I was under the impression, previously, that HDR was a set figure, but now I see it is simply an enhanced data rate for the voice protocol under consideration...is this correct?

According to the slide show, the 4500 series ships in 1Q01 and 5500 ships 3Q01.....I guess this explains the feeling by many investors of Q* being 'dead money' till later in the year.....personally, I bought more at 110 and will not let it go for anything........I expect the analysts will eventually, under duress (like a rising stock price, against their utterances) begin to acknowledge the China effect, which I believe will appear on 2Q00 CC and earnings sheets.....contracts tendered in March00 will possibly produce royalty projections if not actual income by June...at that time I would expect further announcements and projected markets. For now, I expect further strengthening of alliances will underpin the prospects for further runups in the future. QCOM is simply repositioning itself, any who believe differently will be surprised.
