At .13 pitches Cu will offer more compelling performance characteristics.

The advantage of copper is independent of transistor properties. However, at 0.13u, copper is essential to keep gate delays and wire delays in balance.

Yeah, but that's been Intel's story for a long time now. What is Lapinski from AMD marketing saying that's different? Does he expect the benefits of copper to show up later in the 0.18u process? Or is Lapinski merely agreeing with Intel without publicly admitting it?
