your reasons for getting out of rambus
I suppose there are two main reasons I got out.

1) I think it's support from Intel is weakening (not disappearing). Playstations and video cards are a large market, but not the huge market that would make the RIMM price go down so it gains more designs and starts a snowball effect.

2) Fatigue, I have held shares that doubled, then dropped to the original price, then doubled again, then dropped again. There are alternatives for my investment funds which I have more confidence in at this time.

Just as I try to fall in love with a stock, so too do I try not to hate one. If the story or perception changes (perhaps via the hitachi lawsuit) I will reconsider.

hearing your reasons for getting out of rambus -
I guess it should be obvious by now that whatever reasons I had were not particularly good reasons.
