Paul and Intel Investors,

The headline article on the Money and Investing section of the WSJ this morning is "Intel Rolls Dice on Tech Upstarts - and Hits Jackpot". A chart titled "Intel-ligent Investing" lists five companies with gains over 1000 %, including VA Linux at a gain of, get this, 19,550%. Says the current portfolio has unrealized gains of almost $6Billion. Talks a lot about Leslie L. Vadasz. If anyone has access to WSJ interactive, and can post the article here (it's the Deals and Deal Makers column), it would be an interesting for Intel investors to read. Also could help the stock price today <g>.

Other brief stories:

* From SIA - "Semiconductor Sales Surges 19% in 1999". Projected world wide sales to grow 20%+ in 2000 & 2001; December sales up 23% YOY.

* "Survey Says Firms Need Better Disclosure Of Financial Results" - Cites Intel as one of five companies that are "doing the best job of releasing prudent financial information to analysts and portfolio managers".

FWIW,

John
