BERN, Switzerland (AP) _ An investigation into leaks in Switzerland's vaunted bank secrecy has turned up 13 people in eight countries who illegally received data on other people's Swiss bank accounts, an official said Sunday.
The individuals from Germany, France, Britain, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, the United States and Israel, received the information from Swiss bank employees and from private detectives, said Dominique Reymond, a spokesman for the Federal Prosecutor's Office.
Their names are known to Swiss officials, Reymond said, but as long as they remain outside the country they are beyond the reach of Swiss prosecution. Switzerland's extradition treaties do not(cont)
