If you use Japan as a better Example its taken 10 years to get certain stocks back to 1987 levels, and that was coming from a much higher mania. Not only that, but they came back from a byznantine set of government regulations and interventions set up to artificially prop certain money-losing industries. And the U.S. economy that these bears love to criticize had a lot to do with their coming back as quickly as they did.

The peak in the Nikkei was in December 1989 (I think). What do you mean with this talk about 1987 and Japan ?
