Need some technical help on interpreting HP announcement relative to HP web site products tested, listed & meaning. Overview of the Agilent Tachyon Tested Program: The testing has two areas of focus. The first is In-depth testing done for each device under test (DUT) with an Agilent Technologies Tachyon-based Host Bus Adapter (HBA) in Loop, Hub, and Switch configurations. The Agilent HBAs used for testing are the HHBA-5121 and the HHBA-5101 adapters in a Microsoft Windows NT environment. The second area is broad level testing done with many devices to determine TACHYON TESTED™ Interoperability (IOP) in large loop, large loop utilizing a hub, and large loop over a switch+/-loop configurations. These large configurations allow more variety of transactions and transaction order. This testing will build confidence that the DUT is compatible with an Agilent HBA as well as other TACHYON TESTEDâ devices in this broader context. Tachyon Tested Product Matrix SAN Configurations Tested Large Loop Test: The Large Loop was tested with the following products: HHBA-5101 HHBA-5121 Gadzoox Gibralter GS StorageTek Access Hub (twice) Seagate Cheetah-II (3 JBODs) Large Loop Test Configuration Anchor Devices The Cheetah-II 9GB and 18GB in each of the configurations form a baseline for testing. These "Anchor Devices" have successfully passed the Tachyon Testing criteria and are now used in configurations for testing other Fibre Channel products. The Anchor Devices currently are: Agilent Fibre Channel HBA Seagate Cheetah II 9GB & 18GB Fibre Channel Hard Disks Ancor MK-II Switch Gadzoox Gibraltar GS Hub The web site is as follows semiconductor.agilent.com In additon the orginal post came from HP - they must use Agilent to test products. The orginal reference from HP ishp.com & the post looks like Agilent Technologies Announces First Group of "Tachyon Tested" Partners Test Partners Include Many Fibre Channel Industry Leaders Palo Alto, Calif., Dec. 7, 1999 Agilent Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Company, announces the first group of companies whose products have met the requirements of its Tachyon Tested SAN Solutions Interoperability Program. Those partners include Ancor Communications, Brocade Communications Systems, EMC, Gadzoox Networks, IBM Hard Disk Drive Business Unit, McData, Seagate Technology, StorageTek and Vixel. Additional companies will be added to the list of Tachyon Tested partners on an ongoing basis. The Tachyon Tested SAN Solutions Interoperability Program helps system OEMs and system integrators to create interoperable solutions for the fast-growing storage area network (SAN) market, based on Agilent's Tachyon host adapters. Backed by a dedicated test lab, the Tachyon Tested program charter is to demonstrate compatibility between Agilent's PCI-Fibre Channel host adapters and a wide range of Fibre Channel hubs, switches, storage routers, storage arrays, hard disks, and other host adapters.
