Somewhat OT . . .

*What are your feelings on this? [PRCM]*

PRCM is a rising star in NAS (and some remaining business in SAN related areas) with ~25% of its sales in 1999 coming from this area. While the company had declining revenues, (due to slippage in SAN related sales) NAS is roaring forward as a business segment. You are correct in your assessment that the deal with HWP will drive revenues for our PRCM friends. HWP was one of the first cracks in the fiber channel foundation when they abandoned it earlier last summer. At that point I was nearly alone in the forrest decrying the complexity and bandwidth conservation of fiber channel. Gigabit Ethernet run in a NAS environment is a dream - PRCM is one of the first to exploit this.

Others on this thread have debated with me the whole QoS (read unnecessary complexity) relating to SONET VS IP (IP wins in my world) . . . I think we all are starting to agree that SONET is probably going away (Frank did make a good case for SONET to be used as a "package"). Anyway isn't it interesting how all of these worlds are colliding in our company GBLX (and Global Centers . . . )?
