The peace accord is a minor obstacle. The big underlying issues are two fold as I see them. 1) I don't believe this is the kind of stabilization in the region that Western interests are comfortable with. 2) Its been a looooong time since the middle eastern folk have been able to cooperate at this level. The self confidence just isn't there for the generation over 30. Maybe with the next group though, there is definitely an awakening of culture in the works.
