OT coonas:

I do not expect any split announcement coming out of QCOM until at least their next earnings release. Yes, I know Dr. J. had wanted QCOM to go for less than $100. when the 4:1 split announcement was made in '99. When earnings were released last month, however, and no split was announced [disappointing many investors--but not me], I assumed the under $100. was not a hard and fast desire on the part of Q.

Investors in general are getting accustomed to paying much higher prices for shares than ever before. In a market where companies that have earnings [I am skipping the Internets] trade for over $200 or $300, QCOM in the high $130s in not an "expensive" stock.

If QCOM is trading in the $150 range as we approach next earnings, I'd say its a 50:50 whether or not we get a split. If we don't, I won't be disappointed. If we do, I'll be happy along with everyone else.

Regards,

Lynn

I heard about it on CNBC-European Broadcast! They are a bit more conservative than their US counterparts, and they expect the split announcement 3 to 2. This was just announced. They also expect CSCO to surprise the analysts! God help us all if they screw-up!!
