and the spending depends on consumers willing to take on more debt. the treasury's proposal to buy back LT debt is less innocent than it seems on the surface....it's a blatant attempt to keep the credit creation machine going. unfortunately they shot themselves in the foot as the curve inverted, which will ultimately curtail bank lending (and with it, money supply growth)
