Would that be so bad? Something has got to become the Standard upon which to base interop. If they persist in bearing the Standard, they will need to release their primitives-verbs-atomics whatever to open source. Whether their E_Port elements constitute Proprietary Intellectual Property that requires licensing (they are based on open standards?) is a question I am not qualified to answer.

If one can believe Yahoo, BRCD just told HWP to go to hell when asked to open up their E_Port spec. Do they really believe they can capture the entire Fibre Channel Switch market by freezing out competitors? How collegiate. Like, sophomoric, even. The market is growing faster than even they can contain it.
