Jim,
re"little snicker party"

I don't know anyone involved with *ntel's presentation for Willy, but I can guess that AMD turned it from a proud demonstration of a great accomplishment, into an anxiety filled atmosphere, which takes away from the engineer's accomplishments.

In other words, Barrett and Otellini is having a cow about now, and the technical team is getting crap for it.
Hero to a goat in 1 day.

Willy at first silicon this early is a great accomplishment considering the old schedule.

Is "management" pushing too hard again?

steve

Jim - RE: "You don't think Intel will demo a Willy at less the 1.1 Ghz?"

I will be disappointed if Intel doesn't demo any processor running GREATER than 1.1 GHz at the IDF. And I will be even more disappointed if whole processor doesn't run GREATER than 1.1 GHz.
