What I find really nice about this is the potential here ...

If Novell plays this right they will make announcements from now, through BrainShare ... the last week of March. This will completely cross the Win2K ship date and "blanket" the time span with news and (hopefully) generate attention ... and "Attention is the currency of the future! - John Katz"

Brainshare is usually the time that Novell will try to show off the strategic direction of the company, and Drew Major will show-off a variety of technologies that he and his team have been working on.

I noticed that the Itanium (previously the Merced) processor is now going to hardware vendors as prototypes or early versions ... last year Novell talked about the Modesto kernel which would be their new offering for the new 64-bit processor ... I'm hoping that they are making good progress on this and will still be the first (or one of the first) OS that run on it and take advantage of it ...
