Janice, I just see NT an extension of JDSU. They are showing a lot of growth in their optical business. The barriers to entry story that applies to JDSU also applies to NT to some extent. Listen to their earnings conference call (Jan 25 or 26) to get an idea of their position relative to Lucent and others. It gives you an idea how well they did in the face of Y2K.

NT is probably a better bet than Lucent. Considering how NT and Cisco both beat estimates while LU stumbled, you can get an idea of which companies are executing their plans. Part of my investing strategy is identify companies with sales/earnings momentum.

This is a good thread for getting to know about NT's business. I have been learning here although i spend most of time focussing on JDS Uniphase.

good luck.
