Thanks for the article link Mike. At least they balanced out pros and cons of Oracle's current product. The entire 'suite' is an Ellison vision and they have a lot riding on it - so any more extended delay in the May/June expected launch of 11i will certainly be a zap.

If you read between the lines, I couldn't help but think 'noise' as I read the article. Probably more because it was nothing new that we didn't know or had not heard before. I question the success of a campaign that suggests ripping out a corporation's current suite of collected, interactive products in favor of replacing it with a single vendor 'suite' just for the sake of having a single vendor 'suite'. The article did balance this portion out well with the subjects they chose to interview. The two small/mid businesses were happy to have a single vendor solution while the others questioned that so much focus was heaped on the idea of the entire suite that the various modules (especially CRM) were not of good quality and lacked features.

Regardless, we know Siebel, i2 as well as others - and not to forget the B2B's - have not been sitting still as witnessed by the number of strategic alliances, partnerships and interweaving of solutions. It certainly is interesting to watch it unfold.

RE: Oracle and NOK

Thanks for the article on Oracle, Mike. I held my nose last week and made the "Black Princes'" company 1and 1/2% of my portfolio. I always swore I would not buy anything that Ellison ran, but the numbers for the last few years are so good, and their lock is so strong, that I felt I could not pass it by. I still believe Larry is his own worst enemy.

Why are we all passing on Nokia? Is it because we love Q too much? Is it because it is European based? There is not one reference to NOK on the G&K list board.

1) It is the king of cell phones
2) It is up over 200% the last 12 months
3) It is up 20% this month.

I put a buy order in for tomorrow at 200 for about a 1 & 1/2 % position.

BTW ) I got out of RNWK at 165 today, and added to my CREE position at 148.

(I am having sooooo much fun!)
