Your SEC link shows that GKM's cost basis is $6.60 per share and they now stand to make a killing if they unload at the current market price. However, the number of shares is only 253,420 which is roughly equal to 1 1/2 days of daily trading volume. Assuming GKM became authorized to sell on and after 1/24/00, I think the chance is they had sold some shares based on OPMR's volume and price rise folling the 1/25/00 Meijer's announcement. The subsequent decline was very light in volume and is likely attributable to retail selling.

As to GKM monitoring chat boards, I think this has become a common practice for companies big and small but particularly small companies. Law suits are becoming more common stemming from blatant lies spreaded through the message boards.
