Across The Bullboards: Icron Powers Up 50% On Sale Of Manufacturing Subsidiary

Icron Powers Up 50% On Sale Of Manufacturing Subsidiary
Icron Systems
USB Technology

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vancouver, BC-based Icron Systems [V.ICM] created a stir Tuesday, as the innovator of ExtremeUSB? technology jumped nearly 50% in its share price. ICM established a new record high of $1.85 per share, due in part to a news release announcing the company had closed in escrow the sale of its electronics manufacturing services subsidiary, Icron Manufacturing. The sale is to be approved at a special shareholders meeting on Tuesday, February 15. 'thedragon' believes nothing can hinder ICM's progress now that the sale has been completed in principal:

"?The sale of the manufacturing arm is extremely positive; it was bleeding the company and now the company is completely debt free and able to concentrate on developing its ExtremeUSB? technology and pursue bigger partners."

Some posters don't feel today's news is enough to cause a 50% stock jump. 'fairchij' gives his opinion:

"I think that word is getting out on the technology that Icron has and investors are recognizing ICM as being undervalued. The heavy buying by many houses overcoming the continuous selling by Canaccord is really something you don't see too often?

I hate to sound like cheerleader, but Icron ExtremeUSB? technology is going to be in extreme demand. I just think that fair market value of this company has got to be much higher than what it is currently trading at. Judging by the bullish buying trend and accumulation, many others are thinking the same thing. I also believe that the big buyers may be moving in fast because there could be news on the way that will make today's price?an extreme bargain?"

"Perhaps a takeover is driving this," conjectures 'bcinvestor'. "Fantastic day and the pressure on the buy side is simply astounding. With only the news that the sale of the manufacturing facility is done, the only reason I see for this stock to keep flying is that someone bigger is interested in a majority stake or wants to own it. Nearly 7 million shares have traded over the last week and with only 21 million outstanding, someone could be close to holding a controlling interest. The next step, I would think, should be an acceptable bid for the outstanding shares, which of course if you already own a controlling position, you can define what acceptable is. I do not see any top end to this advance until something concrete in the way of news hits the street. JMHO."

"I have bought into this stock for one simple reason," declares 'Vegas77'. "Jim Louderback at Comdex stated about ExtremeUSB?: 'I think this is one of the most innovative things we've seen at the show.' If someone in the industry has this kind of praise for this product, who am I to argue. I think any company that can help revolutionize its industry is worth something. I feel there is good value in this company and I'm glad to be on board."

The ICM forum was relatively quiet and for once, news of the spike in share price was not spammed across the other BullBoards?. That appears to be how posters like it. 'Ugggghhhh' is one such poster, whose namesake suggests he is very much against word getting out about this ICM gem:

"SSSSHHHHHHHH!!! Keeeeppppp it down?"

'aopen', in a less keyboard-happy post, also thinks a "quiet board [is] a great thing":

"I'm very glad to see that the board is quiet today and Icron is up big today. It shows us that the stock is being bought because of its potential and not for other reasons such as rumors circulating in the board. I've had lots of success with companies whose threads have been fairly quiet and I like it that way."

Given ICM's recent exposure on RobTV and the fact that investors like new, innovative connectivity plays, ICM will not remain anonymous for long. 'vmak' reports:

"Talked to David [Dunnison] from ICM. He said ExtremeUSB was extremely well received at the USB forum hosted by Intel [INTC]. Their private placement is about to be finished. They are also in talks with many others, including the majors, but he won't comment on whom. Things are looking very promising for ICM's future!"

ICM is expected to attend the Intel Developer's Forum (IDF), taking place in Palm Springs, CA from February 15 to 17. For more information, visit the IDF link through the Intel web site.
