Don't feel bad, I'm still short from 6 1/2. Can't resist a pig. Luckily I'm still in and doubled my position at 12 15/16. Not out of the woods yet, but the toe tag is ready for this one. Good Luck

Sorry this one caught you the wrong way. There's so much money floating around this pig I find it hard to believe.

I don't think there's really a rule about when to short. People are trying to second-guess each other, so there are no rules that work all the time. I think stocks sometimes have a stickiness to them because of human emotions -- maybe because it's harder to let go of something you own than to pass up something you never had.

If you find a stock with really poor fundamentals that has become a momentum stock, the run rarely seems to last more than three days. Sometimes it's less. On Friday, I was really tempted, but I decided I'd risk letting the opportunity slip by. When it rose again on Monday, I shorted with a great feeling; it just had to fall. If you play it that way, you'll miss some really good ones. And you can still get your arm torn off.

I agree today between 2 and 3pm would have been a really good time to short -- I'd say after the bounce, between 11 and 12. There's still a lot of enthusiasm in the stock with people saying it will go to 20. Even after a terrible TV interview and a dismal earnings report.

I guess you never really know so I try not to stake my shirt on one trade. Play it safe; shorting is risky enough as it is.
