Interesting points, and true, about shorting the QQQ. I think there's a place for shorting issues outright, alongside covered calls , put-buying, and going to cash. They can all be effective if used properly.

As for the time it takes for a Nas selloff, there's continuing discussion about the nature of the past two pullbacks this year, in terms of their brevity and pincer-like form. I actually think I'm approaching this counter-intuitively by suggesting that the Nasdaq is due for a true correction this spring. As a trained psychologist, I find that thinking a step ahead of the masses has been very profitable for me. I was just a wee bit early on this one. <GG>
