Julius~The headlines now hype Biotech in 2000 but Terry Laundry concludes it's just a simple late rotation within a strong Nasdaq trend.
Shifting investor preferences and sector rotations are the topic of a Feb 8th post at the TTheory site. ttheory.com and is a good read for those interested in the cyclical nature of mass investor psychology. Terry's quite perceptive in his analysis of investor preferences that often undergo a "fad like" existence that lasts 5 to 10 years. So it's just a fad but it reinforces my decision today to close a big position in that large cap specialist's Tom Marsico's Focus Fund.
How fitting in a cyclic way that at the end of his run, it was the media hype that landed this "manager of the decade" on the cover of this months Money magazine.~russ
