Hi Sam, Hope the market has been good to you.

I have stayed away from MSFT after jumping on board JDS Uniphase last fall. I tend to concentrate in one or two stocks. The DOJ got me away from investing in MSFT. I also think MSFT lost out on a lot of business opportunities as a result of the trial.

I like NT for the same reason I like JDS. It is the leader in fibre optics. Both of these companies have momentum in sales increases and that translates in stock increases...which paints a positive picture in the marketplace and in the investment community. I believe people like associating with the winners---resulting in higher revenues and a higher stock price.

I am looking to get back into MSFT. The stock is around 110 and I am expecting a stock split this month, as early as this Monday. That would fit into MSFT pattern for the last 2 years. It announces splits one week to about 1 month after the January earnings.
Windows2000 is expected next week as well. Therefore, the time to buy MSFT is this week. I am going to sell some of my smaller holdings to buy MSFT. Just hope they get that DOJ case out of the way soon.
