A post from the Yahoo board by way of the AMD thread...we thought it may help change the mind of your fearless leader, M. Dell.

Comments regarding Athlons being too Fragile.

AMD
We here at AMD very much regret to have read of Mr Dells Comments regarding our beloved processor, The Athlon.
Given that Mr Dells Company, Dell Computer, is the only PC company on planet Earth to have not incorporated our
leading processors into their systems, we would however have to respectfully disagree.
We find it particularly troublesome that Mr Dell chose to make these comments, even though upon hearing of his
concerns initially last week in a sales call to his office, we offered to surround our processors in an Airline approved
"Black Box" for additional protection.
While we felt confident this would resolve his concerns, it apparently turns out that it didn't. Mr Dell advised us that the
reason it didn't was that DELL owners frequently become so frustrated at the piece of crap that his company produces
that they often times throw them out windows out of shear madness at just trying to get them to boot up. And he didn't
feel that the protection we were offering was sufficient enough.
We attempted to explain to him that the boot problems were Intels problems, not ours.
He didn't feel that it would make a difference however, as the problem had become so widespread for so long, that
nothing could change it.
We even offered to include a "pinger" in our processor, so that those unhappy Dell customers who threw their systems
overboard in moments of frustration could perhaps located them at depths up to 300 Ft. if they had a change of heart.
He again refused.
We here at AMD are committed to continuing our pursuit of Dell as a valued customer.
We can only hope that we can convince them in time.
