The first version of RHAT Linux I installed was 5.1. As I recall (it's been a while) it took about an hour to install. No problem with the drivers at all....the printer that I had at the time (and still have) is a HP LaserJet 4.

I recently installed RHAT 6.1, more just to see their progress than anything else. No problems, and the installation has gotten much better over the last couple of years. I recognize that the average retail user will have a lot more difficulty, but that's the case whenever you install a new operating system.
