Edit - i rather like the idea of a boar steaming - but knowing you Ken I'd better change the spelling?

In this continuing fiction you foist on the thread - you speak as if Barrick was forced to move as result of shareholder outrage on Monday! Yet the changes to their hedge position, purchase of calls etc., ocurred late last year!!

Now, this is a sea change for Barrick - and the questionnaire they sent to institutions undoubtedly gave them the feedback which prompted the move. But to call this a 'shareholder revolt' is stretching things a tad! And, one would have to be naive to ignore the fact that all of this had a strong element of PR behind it. I can see nothing wrong with that. But as we speak the stock is UP Ken - the boat is staming away from the dock, and, drat it, you've missed yet another one!

* OT * Ken, I think you should seriously consider starting a 24 hour a day 7 day a week exclusive Gold Bug Radio Station. 4 hour shifts would be in order with Richard, 49er, Bob Johnson, Enigma, Tom, and of course, you, manning the mike. Think of all the CEO's and gold commentators you can interview.

Ken, Re ABX shareholders kicking up a fuss - according to Insidertrader.com institutional shareholders have increased from 25.7% to 40.5% in the last three quarters and I presume mostly at higher prices. Sounds like a lot of unhappy shareholders to me. Cheers

I've finally got it, I now understand why CNBC doesn't talk about Gold much. Getting real financial news from those on CNBC is much the same as getting cutting edge information about medicine from the actors on ER or Angles of Mercy.

Should every time they someone on CNBC speaks it be prefaced with, "I'm not a finical reporter, but I play one on TV"? Are their selection of "Investment Advisors" really any better?
