***Ericy's Globalstar phone*** Don't forget, Ericy BOUGHT the expertise when they bought Orbitel back in 1996. Orbitel was the British company with the Globalstar handset contract, NOT Ericy. Maybe Ericy put the kibosh on it for a few years and only lately started pushing to make it work.

I suppose it becomes a matter of contract. I'm sure Globalstar has been reading the handset supply contract with Ericy. In any event, Telit [Italy] was another supplier and they are being successful. Also, Viva Italia and congratulations Prada - Louis Vuitton Cup winner and challenger of Team New Zealand for America's Cup.

Qualcomm doesn't yet have a GSM licence so they can't produce GSM/Globalstar handsets anyway.
