(BSNS WIRE) Conolog Introduces Fiber Optic PTR 1500 Quad System for U.S.
Conolog Introduces Fiber Optic PTR 1500 Quad System for U.S. and Canadian
Electric Utilities

Business/Technology Editors

SOMERVILLE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 2000--Conolog
Corporation (NASDAQ:CNLG, CNLGW), an engineering and design company
providing digital signal processing solutions (DSP), today announced
the introduction of a fiber optic protection relaying terminal (PTR)
system for high voltage transmission lines. The Company estimates
revenues from new and replacement units to reach $3.0 million in
fiscal 2001.
Each PTR incorporates programmable software, which provides each
unit the ability to communicate, end-to-end, with other existing
systems.
Conolog's President, Robert Benou, stated, "Because the PTR 1500
is compatible with equipment manufactured by other companies, our
product gives utilities the flexibility of a low cost single unit
replacement while upgrading older units. The utilities now have a
choice and are no longer obligated to replace all protection systems
on a line if one unit became inoperable. This is a considerable cost
savings when one includes the re-wiring, down-time, and start-up."
The Company has received orders for over $300,000 for the PTR
1500 for delivery in fiscal 2000. Purchasers include MidAmerican
Energy (NYSE: MEC), Boston Edison Company, Portland General Electric,
a wholly-owned subsidiary of Enron Corp., Bonneville Power Authority
and Ontario Hydro.
Benou continued, "Our continued goal is to accelerate the
Company's fiscal year 2000 turn-around, and increase the revenues
projected in our press release of January 31, 2000."
Conolog Corporation is an engineering and design company
primarily engaged in providing engineering and technical personnel,
and manufacturing a line of digital signal processing systems (DSP),
including transmitters, receivers and multiplexers, under the INIVEN
trade name.
