REALLY have to go now - playdate for Helen.

Check your local community college for a course to prepare for MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or buy a handbook at Borders ("Prepares for MSCE") or join ZDNet for MSCE (about $5 month. Guaranteed no serious math. With an MSCE Nick could work his way through any college as a computer engineer at $50 an hour. Shop your kid around the consulting firms in the yellow pages. Check with Rambi CW on how you do all of this stuff.
