As I posted repeatedly that being assigned the stock from selling put is a byproduct and not the objective. You can give as many examples as you wish in a bull market. It seems that you have never experienced a deep correction. Just looking at JDSU at the present time is a limited view. Have you looked at QCOM after earnings, after it ran up to 200? Did you want to buy QCOM at 190, because it was put to you? Would you be happy right now.

On the other hand if the stock is a runaway stok like the biotech -human genome etc, you might never own the stock. it is never put to you.

One has to look into the entire picture, not just always a bullish view. Sun Tzu always said: be prepared for the unexpected. Learn from CYMER two years ago. The walk otu from a conference by Needham was unexpected. A phone call came in, and whoops, the speaker walked out with no explanation. The stock tanked thereafter.
