OT:

music and dancing in an apt. bldg.? No complaints from neighbours?

1) I up "up on the roof", on the corner of Vermont and Los Feliz, they don't hear it in the building

2) Its swing, not rock.

3) I don't have the idiot neighbors you have in Palos Verdes. I have done a ton of work there. I would not live there on a bet.

The police still showed up due to a complaint from someone a few blocks away.

Next year, invite the police.

repolice showed up due to a complaint

Some people are intolerant, jealous and hostile, when others are enjoying life. As long as someone parties infrequently, it's ridiculous for the neighborhood not to be able to just ignore.
And the first line of offense should be go speak to the people (politely) not call "authorities".
Actually the police should not even be involved with nonsense like this.
