Thanks again. I'm not sure that LM is any more appropriate than here, but what the heck, I've got that one subjectmarked as well.

Does anyone on the thread care to go into any detail about the "denial-of-service" attacks? I, for one, am quite curious as to the methodologies of these attacks. I'm currently doing some research and will report back if folks think it would be an interesting topic:

Re: The FBI News Conference: I found that the fact that Janet Reno would take the time to address this issue to be revealing as to the seriousness of the matter. Mr. Ronald Dick, in follow-up comments suggested that this is a community problem and that it must be addressed by all sysadmins, no matter how casual, because of the nature of the spoofing. I guess I feel that I'm part of that community, no matter how remote I may be, and should have some clue as to what is going on.
