Todd,

Wouldn't this guidance be unfair advantage to the analysts? Aren't companies supposed to keep things on a level playing field?

I'm distressed.

Steve

<<< I, too, find it amazing that THQ would give such guidance.<<<

Maybe setting a trap. But who is being trapped?

I'm sure I'm naive here, but isn't it a bit early to be predicting how March Q will get booked with any accuracy, as we are less than 1/2 way through it? After all, THQ only got WM2K refilled late last month...

Mightn't this be a little bit of typical BF cautionary conservatism?

It also seems strange that they would essentially pre-announce a great Dec Q with the prospect of mediocre earnings in the wings...

Then again, this certainly would help explain the massive volume.

Either way, the CC will indeed be crucial short-term, as there is so much FUD circulating along with the wild price action that everyone will be looking especially closely for guidence.

FWIW (not much!), I increased my position another 11% early this AM, parking it away in my IRA, with my usual excellent timing. Just couldn't stand it any longer. Stop me before I buy again. :)

Todd,

Someone posted on yahoo the shorts report which seemed to glean from the analysts that thq plans on 500,000 smackdown for q1. If thats all they ship, i can see 20-25.

Personally, i had it for 1,000,000 easy in q1 and more in q2. So i think they blow away the revised estimates. I think THQ knows they will, but didnt want to possibly say they would have negative comps and have them be even worse.

We all know smackdown could sell 1,000,000 by the end of march easily.

Chris
