I received this email and I thought it might interest someone on the thread. I've never heard of them. Company: Romios Gold Resources Inc. Exchange/Symbol: CDN:RGRI 52 Week High/Low: $0.45/$0.10 Previous Close: $0.25 ========================= February 9, 2000 ROMIOS ENCOUNTERS HIGH GRADE GOLD MINERALIZATION IN A DIAMOND DRILL HOLE AT ITS SCOSSA GOLD PROPERTY IN NEVADA ROMIOS GOLD RESOURCES INC. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has encountered two zones of high grade gold mineralization in a diamond drill hole on its Scossa Gold Property in Nevada, U.S.A. As stated previously in a press release dated January 10, 2000, the drill program was designed to test the down plunge extension of the main zone of gold mineralization mined during the 1930s. To date, two holes have been drilled on the property. The first hole, DDH 00-01, was collared 76.20 metres (250.0 feet) south and 47.25 metres (155.0 feet) west of Shaft No. 1 and drilled at an azimuth of 65 degrees and a dip of -50 degrees. The hole was drilled to a depth of 106.68 metres (350.0 feet) but was stopped short of its target depth for technical reasons. Notwithstanding, the hole intersected two narrow, gold-bearing, quartz breccia zones. The first zone, which was intersected from 33.37 metres (109.5 feet) to 33.83 metres (111.0 feet) in the hole, assayed 0.62 grams per tonne (0.018 ounce per ton) in gold and 6.17 grams per tonne (0.18 ounce per ton) in silver. The second zone was intersected from 40.23 metres (132.0 feet) to 40.84 metres (134.0 feet) and assayed 3.77 grams per tonne (0.11 ounce per ton) in gold and 4.46 grams per tonne (0.13 ounce per ton) in silver. Hole DDH 00-02, which was drilled to depth of 68.58 metres (225.0 feet), was collared 51.81 metres (170.0 feet) south and 42.67 metres (140.0 feet) west of Shaft No. 1 and drilled at an azimuth of 95 degrees and a dip of -60 degrees. The hole intersected two distinct, zones of sheared and brecciated quartz veining and quartz stringering containing significant amounts of gold, within a strongly foliated phyllitic host rock. The first zone was encountered from 42.67 metres (140.0 feet) to 46.02 metres (151.0 feet), a thickness of 3.35 metres (11.0 feet) in the hole. The initial 1.52 metres (5.0 feet) of this zone assayed 1.30 grams per tonne (0.038 ounce per ton) in gold and 6.85 grams per tonne (0.2 ounce per ton) in silver. The balance of the zone from 44.19 metres (145.0 feet) to 46.02 metres (151.0 feet), a width of 1.83 metres (6.0 feet) assayed 364.46 grams per tonne (10.63 ounces per ton) in gold and 44.57 grams per tonne (1.30 ounces per ton) in silver. The second zone was encountered from 62.69 meters (205.7 feet) to 64.55 metres (211.8 feet), a width of 1.86 metres (6.1 feet) and assayed 35.58 grams per tonne (1.038 ounces per ton) in gold and 3.42 grams per tonne (0.1 ounce per ton) in silver. During the logging of the core, visible gold was noted at 45.87 metres (150.5 feet) in the hole, near the footwall of the quartz breccia zone. All drill core samples were analyzed for gold and silver by Chemex Labs, Inc. of Sparks, Nevada, using the conventional fire assay method. The Company is highly encouraged by the results from the initial drilling on the property and intends to drill a number of additional holes. At the moment, the drilling has been suspended temporarily due to inclement weather conditions. Once the weather improves to the point that will allow easy access to the proposed drill sites, the drill program will resume. The property is located in Pershing County in the north central portion of Nevada, U.S.A. approximately 6 miles southeast of the Rosebud Mine, a high-grade, underground gold mine currently being operated on a joint venture basis between Hecla Mining Company and Newmont Mining Corporation and about 8 miles southeast of Hycroft Resources open it gold mine which produces in excess of 100,000 ounces of gold annually. Initially, the Scossa Property consisted of 16 lode mining claims, totalling 129.5 hectares (320 acres); however, in light of the initial encouraging results, the Company is in the process of adding significantly to its land holdings in the area.
