Can anyone explain me how 3COM is gonna distribute PALM
shares to the current COMS shareholders?

Let's say PALM gets priced on Feb 25th, does it
mean we will automatically receive 1.6 PALM share for
every COMS share on Feb 26th? Or do we have to continue
to hold COMS share in order to get PALM in a few weeks
after Feb 26?

Thanks.

PS: Seems to me the best way to protect a after-PALM
crash on COMS AND also receive PALM shares is to buy
some March 55 puts.

Do we a similarity between 80s IBM+MSFT and current
(IBM-AOL-MOT-NOK-SONY) + PALM scenario?

MSFT lives because of IBM's generosity.

Do we see IBM-AOL-MOT-NOK-SONY being a catalyst for the next era of compucations? (COMPUting+communiCATIONS)

I think somebody may snap PALM well before it becomes a monster.

Imagine a PALM device with the following add ons.
- NOK communications
- Kodak camera (may be Sony video camera too)
- SONY games
- IBM corporate access
- AOL, YAHOO and other ISPs for content access,
messaging, email, chat etc.
- Fidelity and OLBS for trading
- GM, AOL for car travel and directions (AOL is buying MAPQUEST, AOL has invested 1.5B in GMs Hugh satellite venture)
- SONY and AOL-TWX for music

Of course PALM already has schedule, calender, address book, dating, and some rudimentary cumputing.

The key word here is execution and keeping post IPO momentum.

Mang, no not that Gary Smith (but sure wish I could chart like that). Also not the Gary Smith over at Dataquest either. Just a regular guy trying to get his hands on some PALM shares, as the IPO is way over-subscribed (surprise). All indications are that it will be very HOT.

Gary
