Finally got my chance to get back into MSFT. What an opportunity to be in before the launch of Windows2000. Also see a stock split on the horizon.
Had been out of this one for too long.

good luck.

Eric,

"Oh, please. Ever hear of copyright law? If you don't defend your copyright, you lose it. Plain and simple. The law didn't give Microsoft a whole lot of choice in the matter."

Yes; I've also heard of "windows" being referred to in the GUI concepts area before Microsoft registered it as a trademark. Most small companies simply "bow out" to large corporations because they cannot afford a protracted legal battle. The point is that Microsoft uses the court system to its advantage just like everyone else. The game is played by both sides.

Cheers,

Norm

Eric, I think you're confusing the "Monty Python" copyright antitrust defense, as documented in theregister.co.uk , with the "we own the words we use" trademark attack documented in theregister.co.uk . I think both have about the same legal validity, but the party under attack in the second article doesn't have the resources to fight back.

Cheers, Dan.
