MB:

I checked with a good pal on the west coast. According to him, prices are in free-fall. I'll talk to my "best guy" tomorrow.

Meantime, I'm parting the weeds and fixing the cross-hairs on this year's winner of the "Irridium Award" (last year, Irridium "made my year"), Rambus. I may be a bit "early, but not much and at this point, it doesn't matter. RMBS is a dead duck awaiting embalming. Their technology is too expensive, the company doesn't build anything, the memory boys don't want to build it, and DDR owns the field, (for the reasons provided in the past). Now, I've learned of another nifty memory technology that is going to add to RMBS' woes (more later on this) and above all else, Intel is definitely backing away from the carcass.

I love it when the analysts try to hold up a dead parrot at a high price. After a while, the smell, and the falling feathers finally help them to see reality. It may not happen in a NY minute, but the funeral has already been scheduled. I intend to have a front row seat, even if I have to wait for the grieving investors to arrive. I will not jump in hard at this point, but will ease in (an MB "first third").

Best, Earlie
