James,

"Your sarcasm almost approaches the level of your knowledge of Economics 101. If you cannot see the correlation between the mostly unregulated explosion in IT and the current state of the economy, then I don't have the time or inclination to explain it to you."

This statement is as empty as it gets. Substituting derision for conclusive evidence somehow did not increase the validity of your antitrust conspiracy arguments. I guess the "Invisible Hand" conspiracy is naturally supported by invisible evidence.

"The MSFT case is a surrogate for an attack on free enterprise in general. It doesn't take a conspiracy nut to be aware of that fact, or of the consequences."

No, but it takes a conspiracy nut to believe it. Of the Fortune 500 how many are under litigation for antitrust? How did IBM's antitrust suit prevent the development of the microprocessor or other real high-tech advancements which drive the IT industry today?

On the one hand, you blame private enterprise for the antitrust suit and on the other you blame government conspiracy. Which is it? Do you have a version of reality to suit every rebuttal?

Cheers,

Norm

Norm's quite a piece of work, isn't he?

I'm trying to figure out who he's shilling for since he likes to take pot shots on the thread without a profile? I mean, is he a short, a prepostal MSFT ex-employee, a Sufi from Sun or a bureaucrat/wonk apologist at Justice or just an old Bolshevik?

Could be he just got his estrogen shot and is flying in the estrusphere. I mean, what else could explain getting that shrill over antitrust?

Ciao, Daniel
