Perhaps you are right, and his statements are purely political. Unfortunately the big oil mantra doesn't seem to be benefitting stockholders much at all. In short, it seems to be backfiring, and blowing up in their faces. OPEC does it better, much better. The only big oil stock I'd buy after these pathetic displays of sef-destruction is P. P is beginning to see the light. quote.bloomberg.com Maybe these big oil boys will start getting the message on stock buybacks and stop screwing investors, but I doubt it.
