To be honest, I take a lot of grain of salt at that article, especially the title "A Titan Falls". But I sense that Willy may become the last draw for Intel to salvage its dominant position in the x86 market. If (a biiig IF) Willy faults one way or another, AMD will become the dominant player in the x86 market. No matter what happens to "PC", the x86 market continues to be huge in the years to come. Meanwhile, Intel continues to rake in tons of cash regardless.

I have to agree with you that that article was way overblown. Basically it takes a worst-case scenario for Intel and portrays it as a foregone conclusion. That's hardly the case.
