Speaking of things you don't hear every day, here's a shocker: a sell (!!) rating by an analyst. Per briefing.com: "Chase Manhattan (CMB) 82 3/8 -1/2: --Update-- CSFB reiterates their SELL rating after a presentation from the company on its venture capital unit, Chase Capital Partners (roughly 1/10 th of the firm). New focus introduces a higher degree of risk as Chase recently eliminated internal limits for the venture capital business. Other Chase businesses, such as consumer and processing, are showing weakness at a time when so much additional emphasis is placed on venture capital." Eliminated VC limits? Whew! -mb
