>>Banc of America Securities analyst Stewart Halpern said today he expects THQ to end its streak of 21 consecutive quarters of earnings growth when it reports its December quarter results on February 23. Nevertheless, he reiterates his Strong Buy rating on the stock, based on its current and likely weakness in the short-term future. By September and December, Halpern expects, THQ will return to positive year-on-year earnings growth. He cites the upcoming launch of PlayStation2 and two potentially strong THQ franchises (Scooby Doo and Power Rangers) as cause for optimism and retains his 12-month price target of $40. THQ closed today at $18.87, down 11.5 percent.<<

I hope you're right.

The main point is earnings for the next two quarters MAY have been guided lower than last years (haven't seen a confirmed report yet).

Rumored #s are out there and they are low - something like $.25 vs $.55 Q1?

Everything is not all roses for the next 6 months and that should have been stated, not "We expect to have a great year" blah blah blah... or how about "we expect to have a great year, but the first half may be slower than last" etc..

A great year is not disappointing earnings for two quarters or TELLING institutions that you MIGHT.

Psst... let's issue this great press release and then wait 30 days and call the institutions to tell them earnings may come in below last years....

It's as if Brian wants to the stock to go down?

SHIP THE DAMN GAMES AND GET MORE READY!

I will be hoarding cash and looking to buy more stock.

Gut feeling.... Close at $17.50 - I hope I'm wrong there as well - how about $19.50
