><>...Good evening Steve...><>

Exod 14:28
28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained ....not so much as one of them.!!!

Ps 136:11-15
11 And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever:
12 With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.
13 To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:
14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:
15 But overthrew Pharaoh ...and.... his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.

And all the praise and glory be unto Him!!
I think this should help

Have a restful evening
Shalom...><>

Steve, i love history and your daughter's study about Pharaoh and your comment about him drowning in the Red sea brings to mind something I saw on the History channel.

They seem to think that the Pharaoh that was the one living during the Exodus is Ramses 2. He has a tomb and I believe that they found several mummies of children in his tomb.
I looked online but most of the info was about his wife, Nephateres. (terrible spelling) It seems that she was the love of his life although he had many wives. They found many drawings of her and other info.

I think they made a comment that Ramses 2 died of severe tooth disease although I have a hard time with historical proof if it disagrees with the Bible.

You know, the movie industry didn't kill off Uel Brenner when he played the Pharaoh that released the Jews.

Tell her to dig deep and let us old men in on what they are teaching her about the Ramses line of Pharaohs.

Santiago

I think this experience demonstrates clearly why it is a bad idea to have schools teach the Bible. There is no evidence anywhere else that the Reed Sea incident actually occurred. If it did, it was not written down for 700 years or more, and not by Moses (of course). If you choose to believe the legends of the Old Testament, that is your right. But having school (and grades) involved in all of this is very dangerous. I recommend that if you want to keep your daughter's doctrine satisfactory to you, you find a good Christian school whose beliefs accord with yours and send her there.
