No, don't think k has any four million plus proven anywhere in Canada ... you don't want one here where mining's illegal anyway. They probably have a lot more than that between several properties but it's not drilled off yet ... remember how EC used to go on about how the mines never drilled very far ahead because it was so expensive and they didn't need to anyway? ... the drilling off of whole deposits came in with heap leaching, though the fall in relative costs of drilling/assaying versus mining was a factor, as were tight-assed bankers who wanted to know what was in the ground in toto so they could arrange it all nice on paper and then short it in advance into the market before releasing a nickel for actual work.

Thought about buying Kinross in the last few days, but didn't. There's a double in it with 340 gold imho, and it's a solid company, it will carry on through the years watching others get buried. Thought about buying aur, another old favourite, and didn't, for much the same reason - which is that sometimes i think they are more concerned with growing the size of the company than growing the worth of a unit of shares. Just perception maybe, my own inability to grasp the need to operate on five continents or to understand why aur wants cbj.

Ended up buying more xcl than anything - x-cal.com
.. now that is leverage .. no gold shorts, proven ore, ongoing program in elephant country, straight-up management, unpromoted stock ... ever heard anybody but me mention this one? .. neither have i, except for a quarterly post on its SI thread from John Sladek, who holds it long-term and knows it thoroughly but who is entirely too bashful about singing its praises imho. None of the houses do because they don't get financing deals from the company. But x-cal carries on making a resource already developed enough to move the paper north bigtime on 340 gold, or back to the .teens on 260 gold which always carries with it that aura of permanence that we know damn well isn't but feel in our bones anyway. On 400 gold - woooo, remember twenty-, thirty-baggers? That's leverage.

But if/when gold recovers, Kinross will too ... so will fgx, swg, crj, all better bets just now imho ... and age, which absolutely does not short their product ... they're all undervalued at current PoG anyway. Of the lot i chose xcl ... we shall see ... cheers
