Dear JDN: What you say is very, very important in terms of why SUNW shall retain its position:

> Service, Service, Service, reliability, reliability, reliability, name recognition, and all of that.

To paraphrase something stated elsewhere, "Nobody gets fired for placing orders with the leader."

Example: Let's say I am responsible for all technology purchases at X corporation. Cahos will be the outcome if equipment goes down. My job will be on the line if things do not get back to normal--fast. Right now I am in purchasing mode. Am I going to go with the fastest, somewhat cheaper, product from some company without a proven track record and/or, less than a stellar reputation when it comes to service [you might recall my postings about another company on another thread, JDN], or, pay more and sleep like a baby because what I purchased is reliable _and_ has top-notch service?

Price is, at best, a secondary consideration. Splitting hairs on speed is a non issue. Reliability and service from a highly respected company I ***know** is going to be around in a few years? They get my business. My job is secure.

Regards,

Lynn
